It's not a USB mouse, and the control panel says that it's working properly with no conflicts. The mouse is not tampered with before Windows is booted. If not, you may need to remove the mouse from device manager and reboot yet one more time. You of course would have checked the button allocations in the mouse

KVM oddity
As soon as the driver is installed (WinXP did not ask for a reboot), my keyboard and mouse (which is plugged into the ICH4 controlled usb port) stopped Plugged it back into the ICH4 controlled USB port and it still does not work. usb mouse weirdness
After running windows for a while, the mouse light goes off and stops working. Unplugging and reinserting the mouse doesn't seem to fix it - only a reboot does it. Seem to happen more often with some sofware than others, but not consistently. Question: Do I need to install the USB filter patch?

Keyboard doesn't work before bootup with USB Mouse
